Subject: Poll: What do you think of the new forum?
So I'm proud of how things look and work so far, with a few bugs and unfinished details.  Now I want to know what you think.  Vote in the poll.  Let us know what could be improved.

I like it. Still have to make myself familiar with it but well :)
The only thing I dislike a bit is that everything is so "big". I'm browsing this forum right now on a 12-inch screen so I have to scroll a lot and everything looks too big.
While writing this post, I discovered the small round buttons where you can choose a color, they don't show up any color here but that's nothing.

Great work :)

Xero, what resolution is your screen?  My browser window is usually in the 850px width range.  Do you have a problem there, or is it vertically the main thing for you?

note that you have many options in your personal "Settings" - I immediately turened off the avatars for example. A big space saver.

Oh, I forgot to say that. My screen resolution is 1024*768 (using Safari). But vertically it's ok. But I'll take a look to the options in my settings.

I have to agree with Xero, it's all pretty big. And no, avatars are not the problem, i think they use less space than before (because they span more).

I like it very much. it's absolutely brilliant!!
The only thing I don't get is, why it sometimes when I go to preferences it stays in textmode or
a bit later applys the style ...
But I think this is because of the browser is to slow, to get the css working fast enough! So it's not
the forum itself :)

But IMHO it's MUCH better then the old one!!

This forum seems "bigger" than IPB because the posts are "floating" freely. On IPB (or phpBB) everything is connected and organized into one table (or maybe I could say "board" ;) ). Here, posts are separated, so it gives the impression of much space.

I think that - in real - this forum takes less space than the previous one. Or at least it could if it didn't have such huge margins... How about a small change in CSS?

I still feel a bit strange here, because it looks much different than any other forum I know, but I guess I'll get used to quickly :)

On the drawbacks side, I don't know how to write open-all-threads script for this forum yet...

While more interactive, I find the forum slow to use. I especially find these compose post boxes slow—e.g. I type a few letters, then they appear. It’s probably just a JavaScript thing though.

Also, I see a [C] as the favicon.ico, not a Psi logo. It could just be that Konqueror likes to cache 'em and it’s already been fixed though.

Ooh, nice touch with the UTF-8 this time! Ψ rocks!!!

Other than that, I think I’ll grow to like it quite a bit. :)

Fast reply slow?  Or the regular reply?

[C] has been fixed, you are caching it.  Go to http://psi-im.org/forum/unb_lib/designs/modern/img/favicon…
and do a forced reload.  That does it for Firefox.

Yes, it seems very nice.  Better than I was expecting.

I do agree about things being "big", at least the listings (forum list, thread list).  I would very much like a way to condense the listings, which is the only thing I miss from Invision at this time.

It should be noted that the thread content itself is actually smaller than Invision.  Most Invision posts had a lot of wasted content area, because of that tall user information column on the left side.  In Unclassified, everything is much more compact, even with the avatars displayed.  It kinda reminds me of the old forum Tony whipped up for Psi in the beginning, especially with the stippled theme. :)

Oh and that leads to another thing: the forum theme should be changed to match the website.

By the Way ... I love the "unread Threads" - Link at the top and the read Line which shows the beginning of the unread posts!!
