Overview of all contributors

Sounds good to me. I'll have an /about or /authors page on the main site, and that will link to a Contributors page on the wiki. Feel free to start on it, then find a place for it on the mainpage and have.  :) --halr9000 12:51, August 26, 2005 (EST)

Put a first version to Contributors. Feel free to edit (change) it and of course to add yourselves. I'm not allowed to put anything on the wiki's Mainpage, so please anyone else add it. --red_alert 13:30:39, 2005-08-26 (EST)

A contributors-overview would be a nice thing. All sort of contributors (developers, testers, supporters, designers, ...) would be able to add themselves there. The benefits of such an overview: Everyone could quickly see who he has to contact for a question, an idea, an offer or whatever.

E.g. a developer who has just finished a new feature could go there and look for testers of all plattforms to check if it's working fine for all.

Or, if e.g. a linux user is reporting a problem, you can just go there and ask other linux testers to confirm the bug. You may check if it's only occuring on a specific distribution or if it happens with all linux (or even unix-like) distributions. You may also check if it's version-specific (speaking of the distro) or not.

That were only two simple examples how this would improve working on psi. I could write down another twenty at least ;) I've seen this as a very helpful tool in many developing communities.

Contributors should write down the following stuff and update it regularly: Nickname, JID, sort of contribution, OS(es) in use (incl. exact version), psi version(s) in use (incl. which package is in use - source, windows binaries, rpm package from psi page, rpm package from fedora extras repo, ...), (to be continued).
